Thirty days! Eeek!

Thirty days until we open. Eeek! Ahhh! Well, we're making progress, it will be worth it and it'll all come together.

Some of the fun the past two weeks included playing with a Spirit Halloween ISE (in-store experience) structure that we bought from someone in Strathmore and stored in March, moving bricks, grommeting and hanging the black poly "canvas", running to Princess Auto twice for more supplies, and putting away the magical garden decorations and putting up the LED figures in the garden.

On Sunday, I laid 676 bricks for the laboratory floor. Yes, I counted every one of them, and my body knew it. I know, I know, my girlfriend already told me that "I'm certifiable". But using them served a few purposes. First, they had to be moved somewhere so we can utilize the extra space for the Haunted House. Secondly, we found out last year that they do help control the water/ ice melt. And third, they look cool for an industrial laboratory floor!

So what do you do with a monstrous cardboard ISE, with no instruction, about half the pictures of instructions which were missing or cut-off information, and missing pieces that my husband decided we didn't want?! Answer: inventory it, print off the pictures you do have, play with what you've got, and then get creative playing!!

It's a good thing it's just me home... my main floor and a tent look like a cardboard compacter went haywire! However, I have been able to pull off some pretty cool stuff. And, I am very excited about what the pieces will add to the experience. By the end of the day tomorrow, Sept 27, I will have every bit of useable ISE in place. I have a plan and a list to keep me focused.

Here are a few sneak peeks!
