It's Coming, the Eye Spy is Coming... and We Can't Wait!

I see from the visit notifications that a few folks have been anxious to see and hear some details.

I'm slipping in after a busy day of working on the poster, shoveling, setting "the bones" and background of the first tent, MORE shoveling, and setting up the first vignette to share some of the goodness and information that is confirmed for 2024 Eye Spy.

Details you'll find helpful:

  • Admission is by donation (cash and nonperishable) to the Airdrie Food Bank as you are able.

  • Dress for the weather! It is an outdoor event. We have loaner mitts and blankets for those unprepared.

  • Schedule is weather dependent. Closed at -25C. We will post closures on our Facebook page -  https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61553100784953, and here.

  • Sixteen days with 4 matinees are scheduled (and there is potential for bonus days and matinees if we have room in our schedule and think we are up to it).

  • The layout has changed to keep it fresh, for improved accessibility, and to hopefully help cut the wind in tents.

  • Just like last year, we will serve hot chocolate and offer candy canes.

  • For those that complete a set of lists, we give a small prize of a full-size chocolate bar.

There are 4 NEW vignettes! Others will be reset, use different "bones", some of the fun stuff from last year, treasures received, and all will have new lists. A nativity has been loaned by gracious neighbours, a 7 ft fiber optic tree, a Christmas flamingo, more houses for the Christmas Village, and several other neat items gifted by wonderfully generous folks will be incorporated into the vignettes.

Door prizes are in the process of being sorted out. We had a few folks who expressed interest in sponsorship when they came through the Not-so-Spooky Haunted House. And, a person who won a door prize last year who offered 3 or 4 this year. We are hoping they will connect and confirm. If that's you, please contact us via messenger or call if you still have Clifford's card!

Planned hours of operation:

  • Dates: Dec 7, 8, 13 to 23, 27 to Jan 1, 2025: 6 to 9 pm

  • Matinees: Dec 14, 21, 28, Jan 1: 12 to 3 pm

Here is this year's poster. You'll be seeing it in the usual places. If you'd like to share it, please do!

We can't wait to share more information, a few pictures of progress, and see you!
